Attributes of a Growth Mindset
As a business owner, you need to think differently about how you approach your growth. If you put yourself in a fixed mindset, you’re going to be telling harmful sentiments, such as ‘I can’t do it. That’s too hard,’ etc, but if you approach your goals toward success with a growth mindset and tell yourself things like, ‘I can succeed,’ you’re going to set yourself up for success. If you’re in a situation where what you want to accomplish seems impossible, ask yourself, ‘but if it wasn’t, how would I do it?’ It’s important to put yourself in a growth mindset, even if you feel like you’re constantly in a fixed mindset of what you can and can’t accomplish. That’s the first step to unlocking your own business success.
Cracking the Code on Digital Marketing
While there’s a plethora of information, data, strategies, and objectives out there to succeed with strategies, the first step is to align with the goals you want to accomplish.
- Identify what the current state of the business is
- Set goals for the future desired state
- Set targets with those goals in mind
- Regularly check in to make sure you’re on track
Keep in mind that goals change, and that’s part of a healthy process of digital marketing. If you haven’t changed your marketing approach, you could miss out on critical opportunities. In other words, you’ve let your digital marketing become stagnant. Part of a growth mindset is to be willing to look at your approach and consider what you could do differently.
Changing the Process
It’s easy to fall into the mindset that, if I get more calls, that solves my business growth problems. However, if you take a different approach, you’re going to get to the root of the problem. And that’s when cracking the code and thinking differently about your digital marketing comes into play.
For example, if you’re getting 100 calls and only 30 are converting into booked appointments, that’s 70 calls that weren’t converted. Rather than dwelling on getting more calls, part of unlocking customer-driven strategies is considering why those 70 calls weren’t converted and how you can approach them differently.
That creates a stronger ROI, rather than spending more money on leads and continuing to convert 30% of your calls.
The final approach is to consider areas where you operate your business and how you can make your dollars work for you. The well-known area of your business is where people are familiar with you and your business. That’s where you want to deploy strategies that are going to work in your favor, such as paid advertising, where it’s easier to book appointments and jobs.
For areas where potential customers are unfamiliar with you, you want to use strategies that help you announce who you are and what you’re about will be more impactful.
